The coronavirus pandemic shook the world at the end of 2019. Since then, COVID has killed over 1.1 million people worldwide. The World Health Organization defines COVID as “an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.” Severe COVID symptoms include difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain/pressure and loss of speech or movement. Common, less severe symptoms include fever, dry cough and fatigue.

*Health insurance issuers and group health plans are not required to cover non- diagnostic tests (i.e., testing done for public health surveillance or regulatory purposes, like travel or return-to-work testing)

Testing Covered by Insurance

  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are currently symptomatic, we are happy to offer testing while using your health insurance benefits
  • On Demand requires a medical provider’s order for COVID-19 testing to be billed to your insurance.
  • You will need to be seen through our Immediate Care Clinic where you will provide insurance and demographic information, as well as get evaluated by one of our medical providers to see if your exposure risk or symptoms require a test.
  • You may be responsible for an co-pays or deductible as determined by your insurance provider. You should check with your health plan to confirm before receiving a test.

  • PART 2: PCR Lab Send Out (Recommended for confirmatory results, see “PCR Lab-Based Testing” option for details)

Abbott Id NOW COVID-19 Test

Antibody Testing

$4000(Collection fee due at time of test)
  • Detection of both anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies
  • In general, antibodies can be detected 1-3 weeks after infection
  • This test has been authorized by FDA under an EUA for use by authorized laboratories.
  • Blood Test
  • Does NOT let you know if you currently have COVID-19.Only lets you know if you have had COVID-19.

*If you are receiving a COVID-19 test for travel or any other regulated activity, please consult with the regulatory body before assuming a test is going to meet their requirements. On Demand Occupational Medicine is not liable for administering a test that does not meet specific requirements of any regulatory body. 

For all point of care COVID-19 testing, your results will be provided to the Ohio Department of Health as well as your county department of health.

On Demand Occupational Medicine will not be held responsible for additional costs associated with insurance billing.
